Factors affecting competitiveness in the European Road Freight Market
I prepared this paper for the ECMT while a member of its working group on Fiscal and Financial Aspects of Transport. It was subsequently incorporated as a chapter in the ECMT’s report on ‘Reforming Transport Taxes‘, published in 2003. The paper examines factors other than taxation which influence the international competitiveness of trucking companies registered in EU member states.
