ITF Report on Freight Decarbonisation

The International Transport Forum has published a report that I have written entitled ‘Enhancing freight transport decarbonisation through analytical frameworks’.   It is one of three that the ITF commissioned as part of its Strategic Infrastructure Programme in Asia (SIPA). The other two reports, on the connectivity and resilience of freight transport systems, were written by, respectively, Professor Ruth Banomyong of Thammasat University and Dr Jasper Verschuur of TU Delft and the University of Oxford.  All three reports examine analytical frameworks at both at a general level and for specific application to Central and Southeast Asia.  They can be downloaded here

My paper aims to help public policy-makers conceptualise freight decarbonisation options, manage their implementation and monitor their impact. It outlines several analytical frameworks, adopts a life-cycle approach to the subject and identifies a range of metrics that can be used for macro-level modelling of carbon mitigation in the freight transport sector.

ITF is organising a series of short webinars at which the authors of the reports will summarise their contents.  Details of these events and registration can be found at here.

My session is on the 9th July.
