Alan McKinnon – Professor of Logistics

17 October 2024

European Freight and Logistics Leaders' Forum meeting, Zaragoza.

I was one of the speakers and workshop moderators at the Zaragoza meeting of the European Freight and Logistics Leaders’ Forum (F&L) contributing to sessions on climate logistics and the logistics energy transition.  I gave a short presentation with six graphs, updating delegates on some of the latest climate science. This stressed the magnitude of the climate change challenge facing us.

It can be downloaded here.

This event marked the 30th anniversary of the European Freight and Logistics Leaders Forum (F&L). It comprised:

- visits to the PLAZA intermodal terminal on the outskirts of Zaragoza and nearby distribution centres of Inditex (Zara) and Bosch

- a full conference programme on the themes of global supply chain trends, logistics clusters, multimodality, collaborative strategies, climate logistics, the transition to renewable energy and logistics innovation

- academic input from the nearby MIT-associated Zaragoza Logistics Centre

- and much informal networking by the 130 or so logistics and supply chain professionals who attended.
