I am glad to announce today the publication of my new book on ‘Decarbonizing Logistics: Distributing Goods in a Low Carbon World‘ (Kogan Page, London).  It examines the many things that we can do to achieve deep reductions in carbon emissions from logistical activity, mainly freight transport.  Writing the book has given me the opportunity to review the huge literature that has now accumulated on the subject and to develop my arguments at much greater length than is possible in a journal paper or research report.  I hope that it helps to raise awareness of this important topic in industry, government and academia and provides useful advice to those with responsibility for improving the environmental performance of transport and logistics.  By taking a cross-modal, multi-disciplinary and international perspective, I have tried to make the book interesting and relevant to a wide readership.   If you have the chance to read it, I would welcome your comments.  You can post them in the Contact section of this website.
