World Economic Forum Industry Strategy Meeting

On the 15 and 16 May I participated in the 2019 Industry Strategy Meeting of the World Economic Forum held at the WEF’s head office in Geneva.   Most of the 250 delegates attending this meeting were Chief Strategy Officers from a broad range of businesses and other organisations. The main theme of the event was Globalisation 4.0  Under this general heading, cross-industry sessions were organised on topics such as global value chains, low-carbon growth, cyber threats, future-proofing cities, blockchain consortia and environmental, social and governance (ESG) investment strategies. I joined CSOs from the ‘supply chain and transport’ community in a discussion of supply chain megatrends.  This was based on the supply chain ‘transformation map’ that Kuehne Logistics University co-curates with the World Economic Forum. A briefing document on this map can be downloaded here.   Online access to the WEF’s 130 transformation maps can obtained via this weblink
