Boxed-in - role of container shortage in global supply chain crisis
In the fifth of a regular series of columns in Logistics Manager magazine I focus on container shipping. One of the main reasons for the current global supply chain crisis is a lack of container capacity caused by a reduction in the rate at which containers circulate. Because of port congestion and delays in hinterland logistics it is taking much longer than usual for containers to be rotated through the maritime trade system. How can this problem be solved?
